I am very sadly going to be parting with my Rover 214 which has served me very well for the few years, and whilst the bodywork is tatty (got fair bit of rust round the wheel arches and the lacquer has come off the paint in a couple of patches) it has still got a bit of life left in it yet having just gone through its MOT earlier this month (15 August)
Bad bits
Rust round the wheel arches
No power steering so rather heavy to park
Heater does not work very well due to thermostat having to be altered to prevent overheating
MOT tester said that it might not pass MOT again next year (due 15 Aug 2014)
Good bits
Interior is pretty clean and tidy (or will be once I have hoovered and cleaned it!)
Electric windows (which work fine)
Electric sunroof (which works fine and does not leak)
Starts first time even if very cold weather
Comfortable, spacious interior (seats 4 adults)
Economical to run (1.4 petrol engine)
Has a lot of space in the back, especially if you fold the back seats down so might make a useful car for getting hay/feed in to save mucking up your decent car.
I would like to get £130 for it (which is basically what I would get for it if I scrapped it) but I am open to sensible offers and the remaining 5 months tax would be available to purchase for an additional £60 otherwise I will take the tax disc off and get a refund on it.
As I have said, it is elderly (M reg), it is tatty but it does have a year's MOT on it and hopefully might keep somebody mobile for a year - possibly longer. It is nothing flash or special so please do not expect it to be but it is a very cheap run around and could make a useful car to use for going to the stables in.
Any questions please just ask as I am trying to be as honest as possible about it. Would like to find it a good home for its last months/years rather than scrap it if I can as it also does have sentimental value to me as it was given to me by a friend.
