Bexley area.
Manny is a 15hh cob and very safe and sane. He is the original kick to go and pull to stop horse - you're not going to find canter by accident! He’s 16yrs old but no-one believes it – he looks and seems younger. I have owned him for 3yrs and in that time I have only needed the vet out once (apart for routine vaccinations) – he is never sick or sorry.
He is a good weight carrier and takes up the leg well - at my heaviest I was 14st and I'm 5'7 and I don't look too big on him, nor does he struggle with that weight.
Hacking - he is a star hacking in a large group - he is not at all competitive and can nanny the most silly of horses without putting a foot wrong. He will hack for hours, and has done endurance previously, so sponsored rides are no problem. He loves getting out and about, but will also school if you choose to do so – although hacking is his preference! He is safe in the heaviest of traffic - we go out on bin days so often ride past refuse trucks without him blinking an eye. I often ride at the back when in company on the roads as he doesn’t react to traffic coming up behind him at speed
Jumping - he loves jumping and will happily carry a nervous rider round without rushing or being silly. Point him at the jump, keep your leg on and you'll get over. Will also jump solid cross country fences, ditches, water complexes etc.
Handling - he is so easy to handle a child could do it. He walks to and from the field without being held and you can muck out and do everything with him loose in the stable - he'll happily stand there and move over when needed.
Good loader – so good, in fact he loads himself in either a lorry or a trailer.
He has not bucked, reared, bolted etc (or shown any inclination to do so – they take far too much energy!) with me and has no vices. He is happy with either geldings or mares, and in small or large groups.
He is available for either part loan/share or full loan.
If full-loan he needs to initially stay at the current yard but will be able to move in the future. You will need to cover all costs/jobs - costs are probably about £250pcm.
For part loan he is available for as many days as you would like (could be all 7 days):
- £10 a day a week
- £20 for 2 days a week
- £30 for 3 days a week
- £35 for 4 days a week
- £40 for 5 days a week
- £45 for 6 days a week
- £50 for 7 days a week
He will be available from 1 June 2013 when he returns from his current full-loan home.
He will be at a yard in Bexley with hacking directly into the woods without any roadwork needed. The yard has a small school which I understand is due to be redeveloped, and you can ride round the outside of the farm.
The initial plan is for him to live out (so poo picking will be required) but it may be he has to be stabled as that is what he is used to (in which case you will need to muck out etc on your days).
If you take him on full-loan he cannot be moved immediately, but if I am comfortable with it in the future he could be moved and/or bought if the right home comes up.
Please contact me for further information.
